4 Weeks to Your Best 5K
This 4-week program will get you to run your best 5K ever, whether you have been running for a while or just starting out. Learn how to become a more efficient and stronger runner, how to blast past your plateaus and reach your Personal Record (PR).
Starts Tuesday, August 24 – Saturday, September 11, 2010
Meets every Tuesday (7:00 - 8:00 p.m.) and Saturday (10:00 - 11:00 a.m.) at the Columbus Circle entrance to Central Park (by the Ferrara Café close to 59th Street on the right side).
The program will focus on the following:
- Leg Speed – Explosive power to run better
- Leg Turnover – Exercises to increase your speed
- Stride Power – Cover more ground effortlessly
Learn how to:
- Improve your core, torso and shoulder stability
- Expand less energy with each stride
- Recover quickly and improve your flexibility
- Avoid common running injuries
- Increase your oxygen consumption
- Get a better sense of race speed
Receive the following:
- 6 individualized hour-long workouts in Central Park focused on boosting your strengths and eliminating your weaknesses
- Individualized speed workouts and workout plans
- Gait and stride analysis
- Invaluable information on the right shoe for you (this could save you from injuries and saves you $) and the right gear for the race
- Individualized nutrition advice: Proper nutrition before, during and after the race and on the go to improve your performance
About Roy:
Roy is a seasoned running and triathlon coach who has trained elite athletes to get to the pinnacle of their sport. He also trains clients at various fitness levels, ranging from couch potatoes to High School/Collegiate athletes, weekend warriors, boxers, dancers, and those looking to postpone the senior citizen part of their life. Roy is an expert in sports nutrition and nutrient timing, which will help you get stronger and defined more efficiently, while getting lean and healthy.
Roy’s approach includes “CoreHab”, where he lays down the basics to a good running program, the habits that at the core will make you stronger and more resilient.
